Some vintage tips

for the household
One of our local community newspapers has a column entitled 'Granny's Good Oil' and it usually lists some great little tips for around the house.
I thought I'd share them as they may come in handy.
* A saucer half filled with vineagr left out overnight will eliminate cigarette and tobacco odours.
* If you need some quick nibbles for guests, sprinkle salt and pepper over slices of bread. Microwave on high until hard and cut into square or triangles. Serve with tomato, cheese or dips.
* A paint brush makes an excellent duster for those hard to get at places. Flick it along door jambs, windows, computer keyboards and all those difficult corners.
* Black marks caused by shoe heels can be removed by using a pencil eraser.
* Dark clothes won't show lint if you turn them inside out before washing.
* An old nylon stocking is a great 'cloth' for cleaning and polishing a bathroom mirror.
