It's amazing that the taste of a certain food can take you back in time.
Biting into one of these chocolate caramel slices gave me visions of all the school fetes, cake stalls and picnics I had ever been too.
And rich much!! But so yummy.
Ingredients
1/2 C brown sugar
1 C SR Flour
90g butter, melted
1tsp vanilla
400g can condensed milk
1 level Tbsp butter
2 Tbsps golden syrup
80g copha, melted
1/2 C drinking chocolate, sifted
Method
1. Combine first 4 ingredients, press into greased 28cm x 18cm lamington tin, bake in moderate oven 190deg C 12-15mins.
2. Stir condensed milk, butter and golden syrup till boiling, pour over biscuit base, return to oven for 10 mins.
3. When cold, top with combined copha and drinking chocolate, chill till set. To prevent chocolate shattering, allow slice to come to room temperature before cutting into fingerlengths.
