Casserole Sausages
December 9th 2008 03:26
It seems that all the meat dishes that my family pick me to cook are sausage ones. I shall aim to try something different next time.
This dish was a winner with my kids as they 'vacuumed' it off their plates, but hubby was a little more reticent as he said it tased quite fatty. I did assure him that I firstly grilled the sausages and bacon. The recipe even says to do that, but he was also missing his veges, so it may be worthwhile adding a few greens to the mix.
I love these types of dishes that cook all together as it means less saucepans and implements to wash up afterwards. But that's just laziness on my part. This would be an ideal dish for those that are time-challenged. Recipe is as follows:
Ingredients
12 sausages
6 slices bacon
tin of tomato soup (diluted before use)
2 carrots, diced
2 sliced onions
1 tablespoon sugar
Method
1. Wrap every 2 sausages in a strip of bacon and secure with a wooden tooth pick.
2. Place in a casserole dish and cook in oven or under the griller till bacon is crisp.
3. Spread the mixed vegetables thickly over the sausages, sprinkle with sugar and pour soup over all.
4. Cover and bake in oven till vegetables are tender, which should be about 45 minutes.

That's weird. I had only last night just found a domain name that I liked and sent it to Charles...
Thanks for that.
